Let me introduce myself...

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

Have you ever thought about putting yourself out there and baring a part of yourself for the world to see? I've thought about it a lot over the course of my life but I've always shied away from it for various reasons, one of which is the possibility of people just not being interested in what I have to offer. My entire life I've been a creator. As a kid there were crafts in elementary school; a near obsession with rulers and graph paper drawing out my dream home and farm with the 2-inch thick Sears and Penney's catalogs (you know when you could basically build an entire house from the listings) open beside me writing out all the details from their glossy pages for future reference; then lessons learned from my mom in the kitchen, at the sewing machine, with a crochet hook or embroidery needle, and out in the garden. I've always loved to make things and then give them away to those I love and cherish. I admit, it's hard to part with some things I make (especially if it's chocolate) but I do it because I know it will bring joy to those I've passed what I've made on to.

I've never liked having to answer to anybody else (or lets face it...getting up and leaving the house for work 5 days a week!) so I was grateful when I became a mother and my "job" turned from working for someone else to having my purpose in life turned towards caring for my husband, our children, and our home. Now those children are growing older and one is even taller than me. I think one of the happiest days in a young boy's life is the day he passes up one of his parents in height. It'll still be a while before he passes his dad though.

With the kiddos getting more independent, that frees me up to pursue more of my interests so I've had even more time to devote to creating things for others...and they're beginning to pile up! We've gone from a newlywed couple without a blanket to spare for a guest to a household overflowing with blankets of all sorts, mostly handmade by me. Then there's the scarves, shawls, beanies, doll clothes, baby stuff, etc that I've made with bits of yarn here and there and I just haven't found the right recipient yet. So I'm cataloging and listing what I've got along with options for customers such as yourself to personalize it.

I hope you all wish me luck in my new endeavor and enjoy following along as I create and list new things and occasionally get out a new blog post about my business in general and sometimes life happenings.
